Introducing the romantic old soul and modern cosplayer Elif (@whisperofthebooks) as Audrey Hepburn from the 1961 American romantic comedy classic “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

In the early 50s, Hepburn had found initial success in Europe as a model and actress, appearing in a handful of small television and film roles. Later, she became a breakout star as the titular role in the Broadway version of “Gigi.” That opportunity led to her being cast in 1953’s “Roman Holiday” opposite Gregory Peck, putting her on the path to true Hollywood stardom.

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” hit theaters in 1961 as a critical and commercial success. Hepburn’s portrayal of Holly Golightly is widely considered to be one of her finest and most memorable performances. Additionally, she regarded it as one of her most challenging roles, since she was a self-described introvert having to play an extrovert.

Perhaps Elif and many more can relate. But no matter the case, the books we read and movies we watch allow us to imagine ourselves being any type of character we wish.
