This movie is going to be, in the words of our favorite “Eighth Grade” student, “Gucci!” “House of Gucci” has released its first character posters, outlining its all-star cast and beautiful fashion. The film is based on the book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed” by Sara Gay Forden.
Set in 1998, the plot follows Reggiani Gucci’s plans to murder her former husband, Maurizio. Variety has claimed the movie to be a likely Best Picture candidate, so this isn’t some disposable drama you want to miss.. If you’re a “Legally Blonde” type fashionista, looks like this will be the film for you! Adam Driver, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, and the Lady herself are looking absolutely stunning in their fashionable posters. The cast also includes Reeve Carney, Camille Cottin, Salma Hayek, and Jack Huston as various friends and family of the Guccis.
Ridley Scott, who also worked with Driver in his upcoming film “The Last Duel,” will be directing the movie. Driver will face off against Matt Damon in a clash of Hollywood legends. As one of my personal favorite directors from “Alien,” “Thelma and Louise,” and “The Martian,” Scott really can do anything he wants; I’ll still show up to the theater! Or to my couch for a streaming service, since that’s where the action is lately.
This film’s theatrical run starts on November 24th this year. Perhaps people will show up in cosplay like a “Star Wars” premiere; they could sneak in snacks in their Gucci bags. I mean come on, who would check?
The movie’s Twitter account has captioned their tweet with “stasera,” which is tonight in Italian. Gaga’s background seems to be hinting at a possible trailer drop, so keep your eyes peeled!
