The Oceans are back. George Clooney and Julia Roberts will star in an upcoming romantic-comedy directed by Ol Parker (“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” “Now Is Good”) and produced for Universal Pictures and Working Title.

Parker and writer Daniel Pipski wrote the script for “Ticket to Paradise.” The story follows a divorced couple, played by Clooney and Roberts, as they travel to Bali in search of their daughter. Production is expected to start later this year and other casting decisions should be announced in the coming weeks.

Jodie Foster’s 2016 film “Money Monster” was the last time audiences saw George Clooney and Julia Roberts on-screen together. But the timeless duo is perhaps best known for their opposing roles in Steven Soderbergh’s “Ocean’s Eleven.” The two actors played Danny and Tess Ocean, the former leading the infamous heist on three Las Vegas casinos.

It should be an exciting reconciliation for Clooney and Roberts, as both actors have been quiet in recent years. Clooney recently directed and starred in “The Midnight Sky,” his first film since 2017. “Ticket to Paradise” will be Julia Roberts’ first film since 2018’s “Ben is Back.”

Personally, I’m thrilled at this news. “Ocean’s Eleven” is one of the great heist movies and the chemistry between Clooney and Roberts is undeniable. Both actors have aged like fine wine, and I can’t wait to see how Clooney’s silver streaks contrast with Roberts’ timeless smile on the big screen. Give me this movie now!
