Looks like Harrison Ford just can’t whip like he used to. Reports have indicated Ford having a bad shoulder injury while rehearsing for “Indiana Jones 5.” The movie star will be taking a break from set. He’s earned it; at 78 years old, we’re lucky to have Harrison Ford at all. Give the guy a rest!
Fortunately, filming will go on. Delays have plagued the film numerous times, but director James Mangold (Logan, Walk The Line) will continue filming without its star. Let’s just hope there’s not any obvious CGI or stunt double like the last Indiana Jones outing. I’m sure Mangold has plenty of other stars to keep him occupied in his cast. The film will include Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Kretschmann, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Shaunette Renée Wilson alongside Ford.
We know very little about the movie’s plot outside of its cast. One notably exclusion is Shia Labeuf, who was in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” as Indy’s son. Outside of this distancing from that critically panned film, we have no idea what kind of story the movie will present. “Indiana Jones 5” has a current (and hopefully final) release date of July 29th, 2022.
This reminds me of the reports during the production of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” about Ford. He was in a small crash while flying his private plane back in 2015. Many fans, myself included, were worried about his health and insane stunts both on and off camera. While Ford sustained a few injuries from the crash, he was perfectly fine after a few months and was back to film on “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker.” Clearly, this injury is not as severe; perhaps Indiana Jones is tougher than Han Solo.
You can see footage of that 2015 crash down below.
