You’re telling me we’re getting a new Jordan Peele movie next year? “Get Out”! This is the best thing that could happen to “Us”! Am I going to tell you the new title? “Nope.” Seriously, that’s the title: “Nope.”
Director Jordan Peele has released a poster for his upcoming film “Nope” on his Twitter. Peele emphasized the cloud with an emoji in his tweet, but other than that we don’t know much. The title is thus all we have to go on to answer our questions. What is the plot? Nope. The characters? Nope. The horror element? I’m gonna say nope.
However, we do know that the project stars Daniel Kaluuya, who put in an Oscar-nominated performance in Peele’s “Get Out.” Keke Palmer and Steve Yeun feature in “Nope,” and motion capture Terry Notary will be playing a character. Notary actually played Groot on the set of “Avengers: Endgame” and in “Kong: Skull Island” he was the titular character. My theory is that the killer in Peele’s movie is a talking tree or a giant ape.
The director has plenty of other plates spinning at the same time. In addition to Jordan Peele’s new movie, he is producing this year’s “Candyman” for Universal, which premieres next month. If anyone can take the sunrise and sprinkle it with dew, it’s Peele! Oh wait… that’s the wrong kind of candy man. Peele is also going to star in the animated horror film “Abruptio,” which is currently in post-production.
“Nope” will premiere on July 22nd next year. You can look at the poster, which has a very Amblin-like vibe to it, down below.
