Taika Waititi on 'Jojo Rabbit,' New Thor Movie, and Sleeping at Work
We’re extremely excited for Taika Waititi’s new flick ‘Jojo Rabbit’ to come out for a couple of reasons. Firstly, everything Waititi touches seemingly turns into gold. He’s the creative mastermind behind ‘What We Do In the Shadows,’ ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople,’ and ‘Thor: Ragnarok.’ The man is on a Hollywood hot streak and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
Secondly, ‘Jojo Rabbit’ appears to be the kind of movie that really only comes along perhaps once a year: smart, edgy, sharply satirical, and laugh out loud funny. The film has a soft opening in a handful of theaters this Friday before going wide next weekend. We’ll surely be there front and center for the first showing.
That being said, there are a number of lingering questions we’ve had about the project, like how does one actually try to pitch it to movie studios given the characters and subject matter? Luckily for us, Waititi answers these questions and more in the video below. Check it out.
