Incredible Official Poster for the 51st Annual Directors' Fortnight in Cannes
We love this official poster for the 51st Annual Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes. It’s bright, colorful, interesting, and evocative.
The Directors' Fortnight is an independent section held in parallel to the Cannes Film Festival, started in 1969 by the French Directors Guild after the events of May 1968 that resulted in the cancellation of the Cannes festival as an act of solidarity with striking workers.
The Directors' Fortnight showcases a selection of shorts, feature films, and documentaries.
Per the committee regarding the poster:
Both naturalistic and transfigured, photographer Robert Schlaug’s picture evokes a road to travel as well as an acceleration, an eye movement. Between realism and digital artifact, the artist’s intervention disrupts the codes and questions our perception, recalling the spirit of the films presented over the last 50 years by the Directors’ Fortnight.
