Guillermo del Toro’s Noir-Thriller ‘Nightmare Alley’ Starring Leonardo DiCaprio To Begin Filming in September
Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro’s noir-thriller ‘Nightmare Alley’ will begin shooting this September in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The movie will reportedly star Leonardo DiCaprio, who will soon be seen in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood this July.
‘Nightmare Alley’ is based on the 1947 Fox movie that starred Tyrone Power as an ambitious young con-man who has a relationship with a female psychiatrist who is even more corrupt than he is. At first, they enjoy success fleecing people with their mentalist act, but then she turns the table on him, out-manipulating the manipulator.
Del Toro often works in Toronto, previously shooting ‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘Crimson Peak,’ and ‘The Shape of Water’ there. His production team is likely to include cinematographer Dan Laustsen (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, The Shape of Water) and production designer Tamara Deverell (The Strain, Star Trek: Discovery).
