'Moon' Director Duncan Jones Says Trilogy Finale Will Be an "Action Road Movie"
Beloved sci-fi flick ‘Moon’ is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the release of a 4K ultra HD restoration tomorrow. The film represents Duncan Jones’ feature directorial debut, preceding 2018’s ‘Mute’, which he directed at the behest of Netflix, and we’ve now learned courtesy of an interview with Polygon that Jones plans making this current stretch of films into an official in-universe trilogy, concluding with an “action road movie”.
Per the interview:
I think they’re different genres, in a way, even though they’re all science fiction. I think Moon is a human drama. Mute is a noir thriller. The third film is basically an action road movie. They’re three very different things, but at the same time, I think the science fiction and those underlying themes is what really connects them. I think they’re an anthology in a very European, like Three Colours. It’s more like that.
