Robin Williams Performing on the Streets of New York City, 1979
In this throwback photo from 1979 we feature the late great Robin Williams performing on the streets of New York City.
Williams attended the Julliard School on a full scholarship beginning in 1973. He was one of 20 students accepted into the freshman class and one of just two accepted by John Houseman into the Advanced Program at the school that year. The other was Christopher Reeve.
Over the course of his career, Williams was nominated four times for the Academy Awards, winning for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as psychologist Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. He also received two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Grammy Awards.
Taken together, this makes him one of only fifteen people on earth to be an EGOT winner.
