Bob Odenkirk Drops Bombshell Saying ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Has Already Secretly Been Filmed
‘Breaking Bad’ star Bob Odenkirk, who played a supporting role as a dirty lawyer on the acclaimed crime drama and stars on the AMC prequel ‘Better Call Saul,’ says the upcoming movie has already been secretly filmed. What? When?!
The movie has largely been shrouded in secrecy, but the plot reportedly follows Jesse Pinkman after his escape from neo-Nazi captivity in the ‘Breaking Bad’ series finale.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Odenkirk spoke about the movie, perhaps letting a major secret out of the bag:
“I’ve heard so many different things about it, but I am excited about the Breaking Bad movie. I can’t wait to see it…I don’t know what people know and don’t know. I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret.”
When the initial rumblings happened back in early November of 2018, it was known that series creator Vince Gilligan was involved as a writer and probable director and that it would be filming in New Mexico at some point. So the fact that filming is now complete isn’t necessarily a surprise, but the shocking part is that 1). they’ve decided to shoot the film in complete secrecy and 2). paparazzi and local reporters weren’t able to capture any revealing details about the filming while it was happening.
The ‘Breaking Bad’ movie is expected to hit Netflix and sometime in 2020.
