Scarlett Johansson Defends Her Title as Hollywood's Highest-Paid Actress
Given the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest film sensation on the planet, it’s no surprise that Scarlett Johansson, who plays superhero Black Widow, retains her crown as the highest paid actress in Hollywood.
According to Forbes, Johansson earned a whopping $56 million in the last fiscal year (from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019), including earnings from her ‘Black Widow’ solo film and her cut from ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ which totaled $35 million.
Sofia Vergara, who held the title for seven years before being dethroned by Johansson last year, remains in second place with $44 million. Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman nab third and fourth on the list with $35 million and $34 million, respectively. Rounding out the top five is Jennifer Aniston, who took home $28 million.
Forbes also recently announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson remains the highest-paid actor of 2019, raking in $89.4 million. That means when “The Rock” asks if we smell what he’s cooking, the answer is straight up dolla dolla bills y’all.
