The ‘Jackass‘ Instagram handle dropped a whole lot of goodness on Monday, releasing the official name for what was previously referred to as simply “Jackass 4” along with a handful of production stills.
The fourth iteration of the franchise is now titled “Jackass Forever.” Johnny Knoxville and company frequently recite the Roger Alan Wade lyrics, “If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough,” and the new movie name reinforces their lifelong commitment to jackassery.
The film title announcement further revealed the forthcoming trailer release date. “Sure, a little bit older and a whole lot grayer, but definitely not the wiser. Catch the trailer debut online Tuesday, July 20, and we’ll see y’all in the theaters October 22.”
Not stopping there, production also dropped a series of five production stills, each more outlandish than the next. They involve a snake, fire, a tarantula, a human cannon, and a bull, respectively. The latter two are reserved for Knoxville, of course, for a couple of stunts that have become akin to his trademarks. As a result, the reckless renaissance man suffered a concussion, broken wrist, and broken rib.
There’s also the notable detail in which a few new castmates have joined the Jackass pirate ship. Sean “Poopies” McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, and Zach Holmes are included on the cast list. Guest cameos will include skateboarding icon Tony Hawk, UFC’s reigning heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, Eric Andre, and Mythbuster Tory Belleci.
One notable person who isn’t involved in the project is Bam Margera. Margera was allegedly kicked off the movie for failing to abide by a strict set of conditions allowing for his involvement in the shoot. Among them were routine drug tests, committing to staying sober, blowing into a breathalyzer, taking his medication, and seeing a psychologist while on the job.
“Jackass Forever” is set to premiere in theaters October 22. Check out the production stills below.
