Universal’s “Back to the Future” was a blockbuster hit when it was released in 1985 and has remained a classic time travel movie since. The first film was so successful that it even spawned two other sequels making “Back To The Future” a classic trilogy. Even though the movie was able to entertain audiences and critics alike, the script was turned down more than 40 times before finally securing a development deal. But despite finally jumping over the big hurdle, production for the “Back to the Future” and “Back to the Future Part II” did not go as smoothly as its rise to fame.
The science fiction film features a much praised cast including Michael J. Fox as impulsive high school student Marty McFly and Crispin Glover as Marty’s cowardly father George McFly. But can you imagine anyone else besides Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly? And have you ever wondered why George McFly was awkwardly hung upside down in his scenes in “Back to the Future II?” Well, then you’re in for a treat. Check out Nerdstalgic’s video to learn about the original actor that played Marty McFly and how George McFly appeared in the trilogy’s second movie even though Crispin Glover refused to return to his role.
