Jamie Lee Curtis and Neve Campbell Reveal Stories And Thoughts As Scream Queens

A Halloween-Scream crossover.

In true social distancing fashion, Jamie Lee Curtis and Neve Campbell share over a Zoom call their notes as Hollywood’s “scream queens.” The two stars are most known for their main roles in the multi-million dollar slasher franchises “Halloween” and “Scream” with Curtis playing Laurie Strode in “Halloween” and Campbell as Sidney Prescott in “Scream.” The actors shared everything from behind the scenes stories to pay equality during a chat session set up by Variety. The two mention some key moments in their horror career as well as unexpected and ironic revelations about their stance on the genre.

With Neve Campbell returning for “Scream 5” as well as staring in the past four movies of the franchise, she shared the story of how new directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett had to convince her to sign on for another film after the death of original “Scream” director Wes Craven. Campbell had said she was apprehensive about doing another film without Craven but after Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett sent her a heartfelt letter describing how they became directors because of the “Scream” films, she decided that it would be a good idea to jump on board.

Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis recently starred in a revival of the “Halloween” franchise 40 years after the release of John Carpenter‘s 1978 original. Curtis shared a light-hearted story during her time filming for “Halloween Kills.” In the mentioned scene, her character is riding on a truck right after getting stabbed, and a bucket full of fake blood was needed to constantly “freshen” her wound. She recounts how by the end of it, she was constantly reaching for the bucket of blood as it was a source of warmth during the cold shoot.
