Arnold Schwarzenegger’s DVD commentaries are the stuff of legend.
I literally bought the DVD to 1982’s “Conan the Barbarian” just to watch the film be narrated by his insanely funny commentary. He sounds high as a kite the entire time, and whether or not he’s actually on the Devil’s Lettuce has been of much mystery and debate.
Considering we already know The Governator imbibes in the ol’ sticky icky, I’m squarely in the camp that believes he got roasted on his way to make the commentary. And way not? He’s on his way to watch a movie and shoot the shit, literally one of the best possible times one can be high.
The fact that Schwarzenegger sounds so similar for the “Total Recall” commentary only adds to the assumption that getting stoned and laying down anecdotes about his movies is basically his modus operandi. He does live in California, after all, and as a bonus I’ve included the above footage of him smoking weed during the filming of his 1977 bodybuilding documentary “Pumping Iron.”
The hilarity of his “Total Recall” commentary ranges from the times he narrates EXACTLY what’s happening on screen with no insight whatsoever, to having understated reactions like getting kicked in the balls and simply saying “that hurt.”
