Classic film stars, they screw up just like su!
The average viewer tends to overestimate how clean and precise those in front of a camera are able to execute a line. Bloopers abound. Film and television crews go through dozens of takes not only to suss out the screw ups, but to eventually nail that one perfect shot.
We even do it here at Metaflix. The dialogue for our YouTube videos may sound like it was captured quickly and cleanly, but the truth is we have to record individual excerpts from the script countless times until we get it just right.
In this featured video, we’re treated to some vintage oopsie-daisies from the Warner Bros. film archive. Isn’t it weird seeing the likes of Errol Flynn, Bette Davis, Ann Sheridan or Olivia de Havilland, who are always thought of as being so polished and composed, actually screwing the pooch like this?
Lastly, we’ll leave you with this interesting but somber bit of trivia: Olivia De Havilland, who shows up in several of the clips, just recently died this past July at the age of 104. Such a wonderful story and soul.
P.S.: Yes, that little typo in the opening line is meant to be a joke. Put down your pitchforks.
