Get Your First Look At ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’

Depp is out and Mikkelson is in. It seems the Harry Potter franchise is forging ahead despite their main villain’s actor dropping out of the franchise. The recast seems to be of little concern as Mads Mikkelson is also capable of whispering ominously and dying his hair blond.

The new film’s synopsis reads, “Set in the 1930s, the story leads up to the Wizarding World’s involvement in World War II and will explore the magical communities in Bhutan, Germany and China in addition to previously established locations including Brazil, the United States and the United Kingdom. With Grindelwald’s power rapidly growing, Albus Dumbledore entrusts Newt Scamander and his friends on a mission that will lead to a clash with Grindelwald’s army and will lead Dumbledore to ponder how long he will stay on the sidelines in the approaching war.”

Sounds intense and if World War 2 is going to be involved, wizard Nazis are going to be a thing. I mean, Voldemort was a literal fascist when you get down to it, and Grindelwald’s whole thing seems to be killing non-magical people, so I guess technically we’ve already seen wizard Nazis in the Harry Potter franchise. What a sentence that was.

The film is set to release on April 15th, 2022. This will be the third chapter of this planned, five film franchise. Here’s hoping it isn’t as lackluster as the last two entries.
