Four Outrageous Movie Families We’d Love To Have Holiday Dinner With

With the holiday season in full swing, our families now have more excuses to call us up and annoy us.

Alas, we can escape our real families by doing what brings everyone together: watching a movie. More specifically, movies about families that are just better than ours. Here are some families from movies that we’d like to have our holiday dinner with.

1. The Incredibles

Buena Vista Pictures

Aside from their super abilities, The Parr family is definitely special. Dash is a character who’s definitely going to entertain the table. Their heart-warming reconnection gives the rest of us hope to reconcile with loved ones, no matter how stubborn.

2. Knives Out

If only we could be a fly on the wall of this holiday feast. There would be drama and gossip galore, and it’d be a treat to watch closely from the sidelines. The Thrombey’s status means the spread would be phenomenal and the house tour would take a majority of the time.

3. Step Brothers

Sony Pictures

Without a doubt, the Huff-Dobak holiday dinner would be the funniest. With the number of jokes and quotable one liners in this movie, who wouldn’t want to have dinner with these brothers? Even if it was just to sit in and listen. We never knew a dynamic duo like Will Ferrell and John C. Riley until they blew the roof off their shared house.

4. The Royal Tenenbaums

Buena Vista Pictures

Truly a cast of characters, each Tenenbaum is so entertainingly involved with themselves in a sad attempt for love. It’s hard not to sympathize with Royal’s children, but this family reminds us of the importance of forgiveness. Wes Anderson strikes again in creating a fun ensemble with heart.

With so many movie families to choose from, these are just a few we thought would make for a memorable holiday. Hopefully, this reminds you, no matter how crazy your actual family is, that they’re always in your corner whether chosen or born into.
