Introducing the wonderfully imaginative cosplayer Glimmer Cosplay (@GlimmerCosplay) as Gwen Stacy, AKA Spider-Gwen, from the breakout animated hit “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
Gwen is a relatively new addition to the Marvel and Spider-Man universe. The character debuted in issue #2 of “Edge of Spider-Verse” as part of the 2014–15 “Spider-Verse” comic book storyline. Her well-received appearance and positive reviews led to her being featured in the ongoing series “Spider-Gwen” that launched in 2015.
Gwen Stacy’s back story mirrors that of Peter Parker, only in an alternate reality. She was bitten by a radioactive spider on On Earth-65, taking the name Spider-Woman and affectionately called Spider-Gwen by her fans. Gwen responsibly yields her newfound superhero powers for the good of humanity, protecting New York and the Web of Life.
