First ‘Jackass 4: Forever’ Trailer Shows Old Gang Reuniting for Nostalgic Buffoonery

The first trailer for “Jackass 4: Forever” dropped today, and it is as ridiculous as you would probably imagine. The jackasses in question are seen getting wrecked by angry bulls, shot out of cannons and trapped with bears and tarantulas. I suppose some things never change.

What seems different about this “Jackass” trailer, is that the series is taking a nostalgic perspective. “Jackass 4: Forever” is supposed to be a swan song for the gang that first started trying to hurt themselves on MTV over twenty years ago. Did you know Spike Jonze was a co-creator of the series?

The trailer starts with text asking, “when was the last time you got together with old friends to laugh your asses off?” This question, of course, is following footage of a baby alligator biting Johnny Knoxville’s nipple. Sadly, not all friends are able to make this reunion. Ryan Dunn tragically passed away in 2011, and Bam Margera was essentially iced from the production so he could focus on overcoming his addiction issues.

A lot has changed, Steve-O is sober, Johnny Knoxville is a silver fox, and new faces are joining the crew in their general shenanigans. Among the newcomers are Tyler the Creator, Machine Gun Kelly, and Eric Andre.

It seems this iteration of the series will have the potential to pull at fans’ heart strings like none before it, mainly because of the loss of Dunn, but also from the bizarre nostalgia in seeing Knoxville take one to the groin then and now. Despite this being the first trailer, the film’s theatrical debut is not far off. “Jackass 4: Forever” Is releasing October 22nd, 2021.
