As he cranks out storyboards for the new “Guardians of the Galaxy,” James Gunn also teases fans with more upcoming comic projects.
He’s already confirmed a “Peacemaker” spinoff following the success of “The Suicide Squad.” Although, Gunn’s recent comment in response to a fan online makes us wonder what else he’s got up his sleeve.
Where the director will go after his much-anticipated final “Guardians” movie is unknown. There’s been a lot of excited chatter about the potential for more “Suicide Squad” spinoffs. Until this past weekend, nothing has been confirmed.
The filmmaker’s active nature on Twitter allows fans to get a closer look at the process and struggles in bringing these characters to the screen. In his recent escapades, he confirmed he will be heading something new for DC, but did not disclose any specifics.
The director is extremely sought after, working for two powerhouses like Marvel and DC, and his credentials keep growing! We obviously can’t wait to see who he’s bringing in from the comics, but it looks like we might have to wait a while.
The secretive DC project isn’t set to release until later next year. And the next installment of “Guardians of the Galaxy” isn’t until May 2023. So we will just have to squeeze the most out of the stand-alone Guardians Holiday Special on Disney Plus at the end of 2022.
