In a new trailer for “Jurassic World: Dominion” the first five minutes of the prologue takes viewers 65 million years into the past.
At the end of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” dinosaurs were released after the destruction of their home island.
The brief preview shows us the calm nature of prehistoric life and the natural cycle of death. This, immediately juxtaposed with imagery of a T-Rex wreaking havoc on a drive-in theater. These two previews may be jarring, the transition from past to present is smooth and seamless.
The film will star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and returning “Jurassic Park” actors Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. The movie was to debut this June but faced obstacles due to the pandemic.
Fans of the original trilogy will be excited to hear about this ensemble cast. If the characters don’t appear side-by-side onscreen, it’ll still tug on our nostalgic heartstrings.
Director Collin Trevorrow expressed his excitement for the reunion:
“To be able to put all of these characters into a situation where they’re having to not just survive together, but make sure that we all don’t go extinct.”
The latest installment, “Jurassic World: Dominion,” will premiere on June 10, 2022.
