Non-fungible tokens, or “NFTs” as all the cool tech people call them, is a recent trend among the cryptocurrency obsessed, ape gang denizens of the internet. They are unique and non-fungible! That’s right! You heard me correctly. These things are non-fungible. What does that even mean?
Well, fungible means, “(of goods contracted for without an individual specimen being specified) able to replace or be replaced by another identical item; mutually interchangeable.” Or at least that is how I would define it off the top of my head. I didn’t look that definition up on Google I swear!
So, if that’s what fungible means, then non-fungible just means the opposite. It’s a token that is completely unique and has no other equivalent. Yet, they are easily reproduced as a certain someone pointed out.
Keanu Reeves sat down with the Verge to discuss his upcoming film “The Matrix Resurrections.” The interviewer attempted to shill for NFTs, which to be fair, are a hot button commodity right now, but Keanu was having none of it. Watch now to see the actor’s take on the cyber craze.
