Willy Wonka in a Multiverse of Madness Crossover

Willy Wonka Meme

A recent meme posted on Twitter points out the uncanny similarity in Willy Wonka’s costume and other iconic movie characters.

The latest version Willy Wonka, played by Timothée Chalamet, is placed along side Daniel Day-Lewis as Bill “The Butcher” and Gonzo as Charles Dickens. Each character strapped with their top hat and red overcoat, seeming to be in cold weather. They’re all wearing the same jacket, I swear.

What’s great about this meme is that it says so much about its supporters and their unique taste in movies. Although “Gangs of New York” is a classic, the average moviegoer won’t know what to make of this reference and photo.

The caption clearly nods to the upcoming Marvel film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” Doctor Strange conducts research on the infamous Time Stone, as he travels to different realms and dimensions. This could point to him having to face varying versions of himself in these other planes.

With all of the varying timelines in the MCU, it may be hard to keep track. And there’s more confusion to come in the new “Spider Man: No Way Home.” This story also deals with ripples in time and varying consequences. It seems multiple timelines are all the rage these days.

The three characters may resemble each other in terms of style, though I’d hope Timothée Chalamet’s Wonka is nothing like “The Butcher.” In which case I’ll pass on the chocolate.
