In the trailer, Patrizia confesses the Gucci family has it all, “Worth. Style. Power.” Her narration fades from admiration as she hauntingly asks “Who wouldn’t kill for that?” It sounds innocent enough, but as the trailer unfolds her words begin to carry weight.
In an un-shocking turn of events, Patrizia envelops herself in the family by marriage to Mauricio Gucci (Adam Driver). She seemingly ‘works’ her way to the top, using her newfound status as a Gucci, to implement her own vision.
Her way to the top comes to a sudden halt when she realizes she is not in total control. Bad news is given to her by Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci and we can almost see something snap in her.
From this point, things take on a chilling nature, not just because they’re at a ski resort. Patrizia seems to have lost it. Her husband fades into the background as she takes center stage, in her style and status.
Needless to say, things spiral out of control as she gains more, and I personally cannot wait to see the costume design. Along with Ridley Scott‘s direction and dark undertone of the movie, it’ll be perfectly dreadful.
‘House of Gucci’ will premiere in theaters November 26, 2021.
