With the first official teaser for the animated “Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse,” there’s been rumors of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man making a cameo.
When the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” cast sat down with SYFY, and the “Spiderverse” was mentioned, the actors couldn’t hide their excitement.
Holland even revealed that Sony Pictures’ former head, and now “Spider-Man” producer, approached him about being in the spider-verse. Unfortunately nothing has come out of the ask, but Holland expresses his lingering interest.
Co-star Zendaya also expressed her interest in lending her voice to the animated feature. The two stars of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” are busy on press-tours, filming for other series, and overall being very in demand.
However, their love of Spidey runs deep and the opportunity to revisit the characters, or at least nod to them in another series, would be epic.
Christopher Miller, writer of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” seemingly answered the actors’ pleas when he responded to a tweet describing their interest to cameo.
While nothing is set in stone, and the majority of comments seemingly opposed, Miller is open to expanding his multiverse even further.
With an all-star cast in the original, including Nicholas Cage, John Mulaney, and Jake Johnson, I’m sure Zendaya and Holland would fit right in. Until we get confirmation, we’ll see Miles’ return to the big screen when “Across the Spider-Verse” releases later next year.
