Comedic actor Ryan Reynolds recently announced his break with acting on Instagram. On the final days of filming the upcoming “Spirited” with Will Farrell, Reynolds posted the following:

The film will premiere on Apple TV Plus as a modern take on Charles’ Dickens “A Christmas Carol.” However fans were hung up on the line in the post that claims it is a “perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making.”

After being left in the dark for nearly two weeks, Reynolds recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the real reason for his temporary departure.

Apparently, more time at home and with family is the source of the actor’s backing out of the limelight, until the end of next summer at the very least. The actor stated:

“I’m just trying to create a little bit more space for my family and time with them. You know, you don’t really get that time back … I’ll probably be away from film, or at least shooting films, till the end of the summer. It just provides me an opportunity to be home.” Ryan Reynolds

With three daughters and being away on long sets, it’s understandable why Reynolds would feel he needed time to ground himself. And who better to relax with than family.

Ryan Reynolds’ schedule has been booked since 2016, filled with filming, post-production, press-tours, etc. And as the iconic character Deadpool, fans are a bit disappointed at the news of his departure.

As this leaves the fate of the character’s return to theaters uncertain. But just think about how great his comeback will be, once he’s has some well-deserved time off.

We can catch the Reynolds’ last performance (for the time being) in “Spirited” when it premieres on Apple TV Plus in 2022.
